Middle schooler Rafe Khatchadorian decides to start a dog walking business when he sees his grandmother on the free-meal line at the local soup kitchen. Soon he is walking dogs for many of his neighbors and is bringing in a lot of cash for his family. Everything is going great until he realizes that he has competition: two twins start to vandalize his flyers and steal his customers. Rafe has to hatch a plan to keep his business afloat while avoiding his kid sister Georgia who he is sure is out to make his life a living nightmare.

I am in love with the Middle School series by James Patterson and I’ve put his books in the hands of countless number of students. The question I always get is “Ms. Logan, which book in the series is your favorite?” to which the answer has always been Book 2 Middle School: Get Me Outta Here. Until today. Book 8 in the series is my new favorite with its highly engaging storyline and adventure that leaves you wanting more. Rafe is a character most kids can relate to and boy does he take you on a wild ride in this book. Finished in one sitting because I literally could not put it down. Well done.
