I gave this 4 stars because there were a few inconsistencies in the plot that bothered me, but otherwise I loved this magic realism romance. First of all, the audio version is narrated by Julia Whelan which means the delivery is perfection. I feel like she would make a crappy book 5 stars. I loved the concept of the love scribe and the overarching theme of working through grief and that love is complicated but worth it. This book is the same--worth it. Also, pick up The Imperfects by Meyerson!

I really liked the idea of this book, but it fell a little flat for me.

This book was beautifully written, and I enjoyed the magical realism mixed in. My only complaint was that there should have been more of Duncan. He's introduced midway through and then disappears until the end of the book. I would have liked to see him a little more before the book ended.
