Dark and twisted, I couldn’t put this one down until it was over.
It’s not my favorite of the Boston underworld series so far but it was still a phenomenal read. Alexei and talia’s story was heartbreaking and at times hard to read. They are both so broken, yet perfect for each other. The last 15% of the book was shattering my heart.
A great book but with a lot of very dark themes and it deserves a handful of trigger warnings.
Even in the darkness, there is always hope.

I'm so bummed that this installment just didn't seem to work for me like it did for so many others. I had been itching for Alexi and Talia's story after it being teased earlier in the series, so I may have just built this up too much in my head. I just didn't feel the authenticity of Talia and Alexei's relationship, and felt like despite surviving so much Talia still wasn't getting the respect and help she needed from the people in her life.

I had some big problems with this one. Talia is taken as a sex slave, then rescued. She’s catatonic but instead of getting her some help, she just winds up being kept by someone else who used her and withheld an emotional connection. I guess it all worked out in the end but I didn’t feel the situation and dynamic were well handled. 🤷‍♀️

Fabulous!!!

I'm absolutely love it. After reading the second book of this series and liked but not really love it, I was really want to know the story of this two characters, and I love the way this two soul heals each other , she is a broken person to said the least and he is a man with a secret well hidden, until betrayed get on it's way . Love always win , al least that's what I was expecting to happen when I read books like this. A book you most read.

This book did not disappoint. I absolutely loved Alexei and Talia! Both of their characters are complex and troubled, haunted by their past. Their development and story was so beautiful it had me gripping the edge of my seat and tugging on my hair. I think I can already say with certainty that this book is by far the best in the entire Boston underworld series and it reminded me a tad of the deception trilogy. While I wished to see Alexei grovel just a little more, I cannot deny he didn’t suffer
In the time he believed Talia to be dead and have betrayed him. It aggravated me how easily he believed her to have betrayed him, though I do think it is also a reasonable reaction given his past and his character over all.

I can’t end this review without some of my favourite quotes :

„I want you to know the level of my devotion to you,” he states. “I don’t ever want you to question it. The things I have and will continue to do to protect you. To avenge you. They are dark things. But that darkness is my burden to carry, and it always will be.“

„Do you like your women insane?“
“Obviously,” he replies.
„I like your insanity,” I tell him. “And I like the way you fuck me. I like the way you make it all go away.“

„I will always see you, Solnyshko,” he tells me. “Always.“
