The main character, who at the beginning of the story is known for being independent, meets a man and then loses sight of her independence. Just ok.

Hmmm....
I liked it, I know I did when I read it....but I can't remember it?
I had to read a review to recognize it. I guess that says something.
Still, I remember our heroine being daring and the hero being a little too high on his cool aid. He topples her over in the street with his carriage (so romantic!)Then he proceeds to take advantage of her because he thinks shes a serving girl (REALLY??)
He finds out that this little beauty with beautiful eyes, is actually the outspoken American. The form a friendship/love and eventually love takes control and cruises on in to the end, with a few minor hiccups along the way.
I'm going to re-read this to give a better account....hmmm.

This book does not take place along with the rest of the Bridgerton universe as it is the debut. It does get mentioned in her later books. I would never have known it was the debut with the level of writing.

not her best
Plot wasn’t her best and moved slower than most of her stories. Have heard that book 2 in the trilogy is much better so looking forward to that one.
