For some reason I've got a feeling I already read at least part of this play. Don't know how that happened... But it was good, better than expected for sure.

About a duck. But not really.
Didn't really like it, rather boring, maybe because my Norwegian is a bit rusty (if it were Nynorsk it would be alright but this was just hellish to get through).

I have to say that I am not quite sure I completely understand this play, especially the "sicknesses" that the characters are described to have affecting them. I get the gist of it, I think, but it's definitely not something I think I can fully understand on my own.

What I did manage to understand was quite spectacular. I love this bitter, almost comedic reality that Ibsen creates. Poor Hedvig.

Oh boy, Ibsen is dark. This one was too dark for me- everyone is the worst.

O Pato Selvagem é uma análise e crítica à sociedade, com um olhar especialmente focado na classe social baixa que, de certa forma, não se apercebe de que está perdida e que precisa de ajuda. Os elementos em questão vivem quase que uma ilusão que criaram para si mesmos de que vivem da melhor forma possível. O que há de errado nas suas vidas "não é assim tão mau" porque "há pior", e o facto de haver pior quase que invalida qualquer coisa que possa estar mal.
Por outro lado, é também criticada a "febre moralista" de alguns indivíduos, nomeadamente da classe alta. A luta por um ideal impossível torna-se destrutiva e, evidentemente, quem acaba por sofrer é quem sofre já o que parece não ser suficiente...
Retratada está também a fraca opinião de que "não vale a pena", a descrença numa transformação e fortalecimento da classe baixa, muito menos o despertar de uma nova consciência de si, dos outros e do mundo em geral.
Em geral, O Pato Selvagem é uma peça bastante bem desenvolvida, sem momentos mortos e sem dúvida merecedora de resposta e reflexão às questões que levanta.
