Mending Noel

What a delightful and ingenious world the author has created.

This was cute and had some lovely, kitschy world building going on, but… I like my characters to be messed up. Noel was. He was also kind of a jackass to Tim and needed to grovel. Tim was too understanding. I mean, he willingly went with the one-eighty in Noel's personality and was all sweet and kind and okay, that was good, but the truth is that it makes me feel like he has little self-respect to just forgive someone after they literally bullied him and without an apology. (Regardless of any reasons Noel thought he had.) Also has the unfortunate side effect that Tim is taking it upon himself to 'fix' Noel - which is something I never like and don't get and think is terrible to base romance around.

4.75* Fun holiday read.

This is a fun series set in the Christmas season at North Pole City, with Kringle companies, the Rein Dears, Toy Soldiers, Jack Frost, and Sugerplum fairies.

This first book is about Tim and Noel who are work colleagues that don't get on, In fact in the beginning Noel is a bit of a jerk to Tim, he has his reasons that become clear and then because of Tim he changes over the course of the book. After work Tim and Noel come across a plot to get rid of Jack Frost that forces them to work together.

I was sure I would enjoy this book and I was right, This is a well written novella full of love, acceptance and Christmas cheer. A must read for anyone who enjoys the holiday season.

Super cute, fluffy story. I really did enjoy this little cotton candy of a story.

It was adorable, even tho it was a bit fast. It set the tone for the rest of the serie or at list it put some color in it.

I was excited to read this series, since I haven't read any holiday stories by Charlie Cochet.
I don't know if I ever really became a fan of Noel. I usually like aloof guys, but he was such a jerk at the beginning, and there wasn't enough time in the novella for him to make amends for what were fairly flimsy reasons.
But I did like Rudy the very boy next door not-a-reindeer. I'm really looking forward to his book!

This was as fluffy as the sweetest holiday treat you'll find this year, totally cute, although I'd have liked more depth and buildup between the characters.

Tongue in cheek, this was the wonderful world of winterland and Christmas lore reimagined, and it was all sorts of smart and sugary and adorable!

Tim and Noel are elves in North Pole City, and they clash in every which way. When Tim stumbles upon a possible conspiracy, his help is wanted by the prince, Jack Frost himself. Despite outward appearances indicating that Noel can’t stand Tim, he’s not going to let Tim take all the risk in catching the bad guys.

The premise here is definitely promising, and it’s the little details that make this shine. I wanted more to this too short story - thankfully, there’s 5 sequels to dive into!!

On second reading my rating went up a little. I still think Noel was a jerk and I couldn’t see how Tim forgave him, but the world was cute if a little darker than I’d expect from the North Pole.
