I suffered through nearly 200 pages of boring, incessant rambling because this is an award winner. Then, on page 203 in regards to the World Trade Center attacks this statement is made:

"People," he shouted, "the Americans just got a royal a$$ f*cking."
A few people applauded.

Hoping it was out of context, I read two more pages before realizing that no, this is what the author and translator meant to say. I will not be finishing it. I'm only sorry that's it's an ebook and I can't burn it or run it through a paper shredder.

A story of two adolescent friends, hard lives and living in Italian public housing, that go through puberty. A falling out tears them apart and a tragedy brings them back together. It drug out a little to much and there really wasn't much of a storyline.
