Ontroerend komisch en herkenbaar absurd, maar niet Brautigans beste werk. (Al kunnen zoveel hedendaagse Nederlandstalige schrijvers niet eens aan de enkels van Brautigans flauwste werk tippen)

This book blew me away. I can't put my finger on it really, but this book is going to stick with me. Excellent writing.

آخرين كتاب براتيگان ، اولين كتابيه كه ازش ميخونم و به نظر شروع خوبى ميرسه.
مشخصا ترجمه كتاب هاى اين سبك ( البته بهتره بگيم هر نوع كتابى ) حق مطلب رو ادا نميكنه و هميشه كاستى هايى داره. به عقيده خودم ، شايد اگر ترجمه اين كتاب رو ميخوندم ، طنز سياهش انقدر من رو تحت تاثير قرار نميداد.
كتاب در مورد مرديه كه خاطرات بچگيش رو تعريف ميكنه و چيزى كه اين خاطرات رو جذاب ميكنه ، جزئيات وقايع هست . چيزهايى كه شايد تو زندگى همه ما باشه اما بهش توجه خاصى نداريم .
نوع نوشتار كتاب خيلى خودمونى و جذابه و اين باعث ميشه خواننده گاها فراموش كنه كه در حال خوندن كتاب هستش و فكر كنه كه روبروى نويسنده نشسته و داره به حرفاش گوش ميده.

چيزى كه در انتها براى خواننده ميمونه ، فكر كردن به همه سياست هاييه كه انسان تو زندگى روزمره اون ها رو پيش ميگيره و تصميماتش رو براساس اونا جلو ميبره. قضاوت در مورد انسان هايى كه حتى اسمشون رو نميدونيم ، دور شدن طبيعت و كارخونه اى شدن زندگى ها ، زندگى تحت تاثير جنگ ، تغيير زندگى در اثر عوض شدن نوع بينش نسبت به اتفاقات و .... ، همه و همه چيزهاييه كه نويسنده سعى داره به انسان يادآورى كنه.

"I had become so quiet and so small in the grass by the pond that I was barely noticeable, hardly there… I sat there watching their living room shining out of the dark beside the pond. It looked like a fairy-tale functioning happily in the post-World War II gothic of America before television crippled the imagination and turned people indoors and away from living out their own fantasies with dignity… Anyway, I just kept getting smaller and smaller beside the pond, more and more unnoticed in the darkening summer grass until I disappeared into the 32 years that have passed since then…"

This is my second book I’ve read by Richard Brautigan which I picked up on a whim.
‘So the Wind Won't Blow It All Away’ is a gloomy and downhearted tale of a boy looking back on his life prior to an incident that forever changed his life. A lot of people have attributed the melancholy-ness of this tale to his declining mental health and the fact that he committed suicide a few short years later in 1984. I’m not sure if that’s a fair observation as the other book of his I read ‘In Watermelon Sugar’ seemed to have its fair share of melancholy bits and it was published in 1968. I’m starting to think that’s just how he was. Richard Brautigan’s writing style is strange and often times surreal and even after two books I’m still not sure I’m able to say that I enjoy his writing. It’s interesting to say the least.

ma arvan, et ma võtsin selle raamatu ette põhiliselt sellepärast, et tõlget kiideti ja tõesti oli hea tõlge. väga hea. lool endal polnud viga, aga polnud päris nii jabur, kui ma Brautiganilt oodanuks (kuigi see perekond, kes kogu oma elutoamööbli kalastamiseks tiigi äärde kolis, oli siiski... piisavalt jabur) ja lõpuks ma nagu päriselt ikkagi ei saanudki aru, miks ma loen teda. no ikkagi tõlke pärast siis.

tõlkija järelsõna oli ka hea. "Eks originaal olegi alati huvitavam kui jälg, aga jälgede hulgast näed selle looma suurust, kes yle kirjanduspõllu on mytanud. Mulle paistab, et siin oli tegu päikesepatareidel töötanud mammutiga. Teda tõlkida oli korraga tore ja raske."
