I wish I could bewitch everyone to read this. This book is pure magic. My mind is full of this book right now.
This book is more than adventure and romance and friendship and bravery. This book is more than all of those combined. This is by far the best book in the series, and that’s seriously saying something, considering I’ve been obsessed with the first three books like half of my life.
The characters are just unbelievably beautiful and sassy and witty and brave and so damn hilarious that I just can’t even. I want to vent about one of my favorite characters dying in this book, but I won’t. Rest in peace. You will live in the hearts of everyone you love. Including me.
I love this idea that Good and Evil are so friendly. I love that so much. Characters like Hester, Anadil, Dot, Hort, all my Evil characters aren’t even evil. To anyone who says they are, LOOK CLOSER. I honestly love my ‘villains’ so much sometimes I can’t even breathe. Watching your favorite characters interactions and constant bantering is a dream come true.
Every second of this book, I was feeling something. I was either rolling on the floor laughing, crying my eyes out, or wondering what the hell Soman Chainani was planning next. The plot was SO FRICKING GOOD. Like I said, SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FIRST THREE BOOKS COMBINED. There were many times SC made you feel like you knew exactly what was going to happen, and then he twisted that shit and made you want to rewind because you’re just so utterly shocked.
My lovely Hort. I love him so much. He is such an important, unique character and he always has been for me. He’s always been destined for something greater, and I’ve had that belief since the first time I started this series. I’m so glad he finally found someone, and someone as worthy and brave and intelligent as her. And plus, she actually love Hort a lot.
WE DID NOT GET ENOUGH OF MERLIN OR GUINEVERE IN THIS BOOK. I FELT LIKE THROWING A TANTRUM EVERY TIME THEY ONLY GOT A SHORT SCENE. I fell in love with those two from The Last Ever After, and though this book was perfection, it would’ve been flawless had I seen more of my favorite characters.
I didn’t think it was possible that I could love Sophie, Agatha, and Tedros any more than I already did. But I do. They are so precious to me. Sophie is probably my favorite out of all three because she’s so sassy and beautiful and hilarious. I can imagine how having her as a best friend would brighten up anyone’s life. Mostly Sophie’s my favorite because she’s the villain and completely misunderstood by a lot of people. A lot of people think she’s selfish and cruel but she’s just scared to be alone like a lot of people are, and the things she did to try and keep that are understandable. Besides, it’s hard to everything one day, and gradually begin to lose it all? Sophie’s actions weren’t always good, but I believe her heart isn’t evil. It’s human.
I’ve always loved Tedros, but the fact that he said to Agatha, ”Don’t you understand? The trick is you,” I wanted to kick my foot up his arse and leave it there. Don’t talk to my queen or your queen like that.
I refuse to talk about Rhian. Let’s just say, I didn’t trust him from the beginning, and rightly so. WHY THE FJFUFUFFN DOES EVERYONE MANIPULATE SOPHIE WHY DOES EVERYONE LIE TO THAT QUEEN IT ISNT FAIR
Like obviously Sophie does her fair share of lying and cheating and manipulating but STILL THAT’S DIFFERENT SOPHIE GETS HURT TOO MUCH
This part of the reason why I’m kinda sorta happy that Hort’s moved on to someone really worthy, but at the same time, I wish he still loved her because Hort really understands Sophie and he wouldn’t hurt or lie to her. But of course Sophie’s dumbass doesn’t like him.
This book had me all sorts of suspicious, and I don’t think I’ll ever recover. I’ve learned that the only people you can trust are the characters you’ve read about in more than one book. And that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Considering I thought thus series was over with the previous trilogy, I really really enjoyed this addition. Can't wait for the story to continue.

It dragged....a lot. This was my least favorite in the series so far.
