I picked this book a decade ago and dropped it as I was skeptical at the power of words and the statement, 'As a man think, so he is.' Reading this book after 15 years with a lot of knowledge on beliefs, words & the laws of the mind, I enjoyed reading this book and i'd love to invest my time to study more on neuroscience and workings of the mind.

There is over hyped and then there is this book. DNFed at around 80%.

I got the book, I tried, but he lost me not far in with his statement of "everybody prays" and then goes on to talk about the different types of prayer. What an assumption to make, that everybody prays - and especially right after talking about scientific beliefs and processes. Is this a personal development book or a religious text? Well, being written in 1963, perhaps lines around such things were a little more blurred then.

I read more about the book/author and found he's a doctor of religious studies. That explains a lot, and tells me this is not for me. If you believe in prayer, god or are open to such things this book may have something to offer you.
