Lily went back and forth more than a ball at a tennis match.
Alex ignored her very real trauma caused by her previous relationship, getting all huffy when she even says she can't be in a relationship "right now", indicating she just needs time, not to mention the issue of them living on opposite side of the country.
I'm sure this will likely be resolved, probably with the helpof the mysterious Joshua who appears to be the author's stand in for God, and possibly due to some climatic event with her ex, who is probably the one who wrecked her store .
Overall, the flow is jerky, both characters would benefit from counseling, and I can't take any more of it.

Frustrating
I really liked the story, I mean who doesn't like chocolate and making something beautiful out of something that has been neglected? The characters and family are good and warm. I had touble with Lily, wanted to slap her quite often! Was just too hesitant, for me. Glad it all works out in the end.
